Llanidloes, Wales

Llanidloes is a picturesque hidden gem within the fabled idyllic surroundings of Montgomeryshire. The town takes it names from the 7th century Celtic Saint Idloes and offers up some of the most scintillating views of the River Severn overlooking the Cambrian Mountains.

A popular spot for experienced yet curious hikers in search of pure solitary bliss, Llanidloes is an untouched natural wonder oozing with mythical beauty and spirituality. The Glyngynwydd cottages are a stones throw down the A470 from the old market hall of Llanidloes and consist of five spacious yet snug fairytale cottages perfect for a weekend of awakening and mindfulness. With friendly farm animals and seas of green illuminating the location, the Glyngynwydd cottages promise a weekend experience brimming with warmth, freedom and euphoria.


Improve your posture and understanding of alignment in asanas.  The way we hold ourselves impacts us greatly. On this retreat we will explore the beneficial ways to align our bodies from head to toe. We will also look at being precise in each asana, and how subtle changes can notably impact our practice. Expect slow and thoughtful yoga classes that you will walk away from both well educated and aware.

What to expect

After arrival on Friday afternoon we will have an opening circle and Yin yoga class, followed by a delicious hearty meal to ease you into a prosperous weekend. Saturday morning will see an early morning flow class to energise you for the day ahead, followed by breakfast and an optional group walk around the gardens and local nature. You can relax for the rest of the morning, whether that be journalling your thoughts or general socialising getting to know others. After a light buffet style lunch, we will spend the afternoon in a workshop designed to retrain and develop a better posture, finishing off with a long meditation. Coming into the early evening you will have the opportunity for more alone time and to explore the surroundings. As the darkness of the night draws closer, we will have another blissful yin session, followed by a freshly prepared dinner and gathering round a bonfire. We will round up the retreat on Sunday morning with a flow and restore yoga class, followed by a final breakfast. Before leaving we will hold a closing circle, where you will receive a package enclosing all the new ideas you have learnt from the weekend. We expect to add live music to one of the evenings, this will be confirmed at a later date.

Coming to a space away from the hustle and bustle of everyday society, you can unwind and completely let go of any worries for the weekend. Not only will it benefit you and your practice wholeheartedly,  you are giving yourself concentrated attention and devotion through yoga, food and exquisite nature.


Your Teacher

Claudia is a yogi, massage therapist, and professionally trained dancer, who believes that movement is truly a medicine. After completing her Hatha teacher training in India, she continued her development at the Himalayan Iyengar Centre, and continues to study and practice diverse styles of yoga. Claudia’s experience gives her a deep understanding of the physical body in motion, and influences her style of yoga which is precise and slow. Her guidance will leave you with a greater understanding of your body, breath and mind.


All meals will be suitable for vegetarians, with a vegan option always available. It’s essential to fuel your body with nutritional and wholesome food throughout all aspects of life, especially during practise. A mixture of worldly cuisine rich in vitamins will be served in abundance throughout the retreat, which you’ll be notified about well in advance, to make your stay with us all the more nourishing. 

Your chef

Jack is a qualified chef who works in London, specialising in healthy invigorating cuisine designed to treat your body with care and fulfilment. With over seven years experience within catering, Jack’s balance of tasty yet replenishing dishes will be carefully curated to provide you with the essential energy to prosper over the weekend. A plethora of strengthening, delicious food will be cooked on site and served with the utmost dedication and passion.


Your travel to the cottages is not included in the fee, but we will help to guide you with the utmost care whether your journey is by train, car or air.

The remaining balance to join us on retreat must be paid in full 30 days before the 6th July 2018. To pay your remaining balance in instalments please contact us.
