Surrounded by an abundance of luscious landscape and breathtaking scenery, its romanticism and preservation of historic England makes The Healthy Home a true natural beauty awaiting to be discovered.

Theme

There comes a time in your yoga journey where you feel ready to step away from the studio and begin a personal home practice. It can be a daunting leap from guided classes, with corrections from your teachers, to disciplining yourself on the mat at home. What a self-practice can offer you is more time for inner-reflection and an opportunity to break personal boundaries. At home your freedom of time and space opens up, allowing more innovation and understanding of what your individual yoga practice actually is. Claudia’s experience with a variety of yoga styles means practitioners from diverse yoga styles and backgrounds are welcome. On this retreat Claudia will work with you to understand your personal goals and help to devise a practice you can commit to.

What To Expect

Upon arrival on Friday afternoon there will be a group opening circle followed  our first yoga session, finishing off with a wholesome dinner. Saturday will see a yoga class to wake you up, followed by breakfast and a chance to explore the surroundings. During this first morning, Claudia will discuss your personal goals with you individually. We will then move into a long session, workshopping and discussing ideas together as well as having some personal time to get creative. By the end of this session you will know how to use your home space creatively, feel secure about your alignment and what is safe to practice alone, and start getting an idea of what your personal plan may be. Later in the day you will have some free time, followed by a relaxing yoga class, meditation and dinner. Sunday morning’s yoga class will be time to apply everything you have learnt into a self practice amongst your fellow yogis. You will still have the security of your teacher and peers, but freedom to practise as you wish. Following this, we will have breakfast and some relaxation time. The late morning will be dedicated to individual assessment and discussion with Claudia, and will also be a time for journalling and reflecting on what your personal practice is. Having the added bonus of a late departure from the Healthy Home on Sunday, we will have time for lunch and a long walk, followed by a final yoga class, meditation and closing circle.

Your Teacher

Claudia is a yogi, massage therapist, and professional dancer, who believes that movement is truly a medicine. After completing her Hatha teacher training in India, she continued her development at the Himalayan Iyengar Centre, and continues to study and practice diverse styles of yoga. Claudia found her teaching style was influenced by her dedicated self practice during her travels around the world.

Food

All meals will be suitable for vegetarians, with a vegan option always available. As the winter months draw closer, a dedicated diet of natural root vegetables and pulps are essential for the body in order to conserve energy for movement and circulation. Expect hearty broths and flavourful produce all sourced locally and organically. 

Your Chef

Jack is a qualified chef who works in London, specialising in healthy invigorating cuisine designed to treat your body with care and fulfilment. With over seven years experience within catering, Jack’s balance of tasty yet replenishing dishes will be carefully curated to provide you with the essential energy to prosper over the weekend. A plethora of strengthening, delicious food will be cooked on site and served with the utmost dedication and passion.

Travel

Your travel to The Healthy Home is not included in the fee, but we will help to guide you whether your journey is by train, car or air.
